Octave Systems’ Multipod, a 5-in-1
Multimedia USB Device, is the First of its Kind
Take Pictures, Record Video, Record Audio, Store Data, or use as a Web Cam
to Stream Live Video
Campbell, California – February 10, 2005 -- Octave Systems, Inc. a
leading technology innovator, presents the Multipod, the first and only USB
device to wrap the five most popular digital tasks into one small package.
The Multipod is a digital camera, web camera, video camera, audio recorder
and 128MB portable storage device. It does all of this in a three-quarter
ounce shell case that’s the size of a lipstick case.
As small as the Multipod is, it’s packed with the technology to capture up
to 12 minutes of video with sound. Users can record presentations, video
clips for websites, and those all-important birthday parties. And beyond
that, its extremely small size lets users take the Multipod to extremes:
hang it on a kite string, attach it to a ski jacket, a radio-controlled
model plane or even take it sky-diving for videos that will be beyond
breathtaking.
Up to 3000, full color still photos at 320x240 or 750 full color still
photos at 640x480 are one button away with the Multipod. As with any quality
digital camera, users can store photos on the Multipod 5-in-1. Then they can
use the Multipod’s USB connection to upload the photos right onto on a
computer for storage or making prints.
With a storage capacity of up to 128MB, the Multipod 5-in-1 is the perfect
portable storage device. Users can take documents, photos, spreadsheets even
presentations wherever they go. Data can be easily and rapidly transferred
to a PC with the Multipod’s USB connection.
The Multipod 5-in-1 is a plug-n-play video-conferencing device that’s
perfect for the web. Connect with telecommuting employees or make
presentations to staff and clients anywhere in the world. It’s as easy as
U-S-B. The Multipod 5-in-1 is also seamlessly compatible with popular IM
programs such as AIM, MSN and Yahoo. Simply plug the Multipod 5-in-1 into
the included USB flexi-cable that functions as an adjustable web camera
stand.
The Multipod’s 8 kHz digital voice recording system accommodates hours of
dictation for everything from presentations to spur-of-the-moment
brainstorms, shopping lists, and more.
The Multipod 5-in-1 can be the “road warrior’s” best friend. It does
everything that would normally require separate, heavy and bulky video
cameras, voice recorders, still cameras, video conferencing web cams, and
portable hard drives. The Multipod is not intended as a replacement for all
these products but it is an extremely convenient alternative capable of
performing all five of those functions. And doing it all in a package that’s
a mere 3 3/8" (87mm) long, 15/16" inches (23mm) wide, and 7/8" inches (19mm)
deep, and weighs in at 0.85 oz (24 grams). With dimensions that small and
capabilities so large, no pocket, purse, briefcase or backpack should be
without one.
The Multipod has an MSRP of $149.99 and is currently available. Order yours
