Step by Step Instructions for Using the Multipod with MSN Instant Messenger |
|
Please follow the basic instructions found on our support page (if you have not already) before beginning these steps. Under the Actions menu select Send My Webcam:
You will then be shown a list of online buddies to select from.
Alternatively you can right click on the name of the person you wish to share your webcam with on your buddy list and select Send My Webcam:
Once your buddy has been selected MSN will automatically move on with the next step. Before the webcam displays in MSN for the first time it will run through an Audio/Video testing phase. Follow the instructions/steps for this and make sure the NMS Video Camera is selected in the webcam dialog box.
During the testing phase you may see a warning that looks like this:
Go ahead and click Next. The camera will still function properly despite the warning. You will then see a screen that looks similar to this:
Before your buddy can see your webcam they must accept your invitation. You will see a message indicating that your buddy has been invited to view your webcam and you can cancel the request simply by clicking on Cancel. You will also be notified when your buddy has started viewing your webcam The bottom right corner shows your outgoing webcam images and you can
disconnect at any time by pressing the webcam button
If your buddy has a webcam they are sharing, it will be shown in place of their icon on the top right. Clicking on the arrow underneath your buddy's webcam image will also give you further options for enlarging etc. You can also hide your webcam icon while online so others do not know your webcam is available (except those you choose to invite). To adjust these settings go to the main MSN window (the list of buddies etc.) and select Tools and then Options.
A menu will then pop up, on this menu make sure the Personal tab is selected:
Uncheck the box that says Share my webcam capabilities with others
and then click OK.
